Abstract: Earth block masonry is gaining prominence in construction due to its low environmental impact. However, especially in the case of stabilised earth blocks, environmentally sound end-of-life scenarios are not well established. This study explores the frequently overlooked possibility of earth block reuse rather than recycling or disposal. By delving into deconstruction and cleaning processes and the labour intensity involved, the bond strength between earth blocks and mortar is evaluated as the pivotal factor influencing earth block reclamation.
