| dc.description.abstract | Food loss in fruit and vegetable (F&V) supply chains depends on storage conditions and retail inventory decisions, while maintaining low temperatures requires energy. We develop a mathematical model for storage location assignment in micro-fulfillment centers that allocates F&V across temperature zones to jointly minimize cooling energy and food loss at retailer and consumer levels within a life-cycle assessment framework. The model integrates demand, inventory, and remaining shelf life, and allows relocation of stock under capacity limits. | - |
