Title: | Spatial aggregation of two-dimensional objects in raster data structures | Authors: | Bogaert, J. ROUSSEAU, Ronald |
Issue Date: | 2001 | Publisher: | ELSEVIER SCIENCE INC | Source: | Applied mathematics and computation, 119. p. 117-126 | Abstract: | Raster data structures are characterized by pixel geometry and resolution. A method is proposed to reduce resolution to a minimum using spatial aggregation without information loss. The method is based on a matrix approach and developed for a two-dimensional spatial object. Perimeter measures and fractal dimension are shown not to be invariant to spatial aggregation. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science Inc.
