Abstract

Due to the general police reform at the end of the nineties, the responsibilities of mayors concerning the administrative police and the leadership of the local police have been changed. This article underlines that administering the police does not only have politico-bureaucratic dimensions but that it also shows links with social participation in general and the occurrence of new types of citizenship.
