In this thesis an effort is made to point out the shortcomings in lifetime and operation of a polymer light emitting diode PLED based on precursor poly (p-phenylene vinylene) (PPV). The models for the description of the basic properties of a PLED are used to understand the origin of catastrophic failure in these devices.-
