dc.description.abstract | It is shown that the analysis by Marinescu and You [Phys. Rev. A 59, 1936 (1999)] of the Casimir-Polder long-range interaction potential between a pair of ground-state alkali-metal atoms is incomplete. Missing is the contribution to the energy shift arising from the diamagnetic-diamagnetic interaction term. The lending term of this interaction is evaluated and found to have an inverse seventh-power dependence on interatomic separation distance. | - |
