Authors: NAUWELAERTS, Kris

Abstract: Nowadays young children become visually literate at a fast pace due to extensively use of image-text combinations by the media. Education, however, places priority on lingual communication, causing a stagnation of visual competency. The presentation discusses the use of a watch- and read guide for artistic picture books as an early remedy. Intended for K-12 and museum education audience.
