Title: | Confidence intervals for the current status model | Authors: | Groeneboom, Piet HENDRICKX, Kim |
Issue Date: | 2017 | Source: | Scandinavian journal of statistics, 45(1), p. 135-163 | Abstract: | We discuss a new way of constructing pointwise confidence intervals for the distribution function in the current status model. The confidence intervals are based on the smoothed maximum likelihood estimator, using local smooth functional theory and normal limit distributions. Bootstrap methods for constructing these intervals are considered. Other methods to construct confidence intervals, using the non-standard limit distribution of the (restricted) maximum likelihood estimator, are compared with our approach via simulations and real data applications. | Notes: | Hendrickx, K (reprint author), Hasselt Univ, I BioStat, Agoralaan, B-3590 Diepenbeek, Belgium. kim.hendrickx@uhasselt.be | Keywords: | bootstrap; confidence intervals; current status; maximum likelihood estimator; smoothed maximum likelihood estimator | Document URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/1942/25154 | ISSN: | 0303-6898 | e-ISSN: | 1467-9469 | DOI: | 10.1111/sjos.12294 | ISI #: | 000424656000006 | Rights: | (C) 2017 Board of the Foundation of the Scandinavian Journal of Statistics | Category: | A1 | Type: | Journal Contribution | Validations: | ecoom 2019 |
