Bioelectrochemical systems are an emerging technology for the remediation of pollutants from wastewater. Here, the degradation of pesticides in such a system is examined. HPLC, cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry were used as techniques. No evidence was found for the degradation of pesticides by the bacteria. Granular activated carbons are a suited substrate for bacteria in a bioelectrochemical system.-
