Advancing science or advancing careers? Researchers’ opinions on success indicators

Abstract

Methodology: Noémie Aubert Bonn and Wim Pinxten built the survey; Vincent Larivière 2 provided guidance on the survey content, terminology, and recruitment methods; Patricia Tielens 3 helped us understand how to distribute the survey in respect with GDPR; Raymond De Vries 4 , Søren Holm 5 and Daniele Fanelli 6 provided feedback on earlier versions of the survey; Dana Hawwash 7 , Paolo Corsico 5 , and Audrey Wolff 8 provided feedback on final versions of the survey.
