Title: | Mesostructure from specularity using gradient illumination | Authors: | FRANCKEN, Yannick CUYPERS, Tom BEKAERT, Philippe |
Issue Date: | 2008 | Publisher: | ACM | Source: | Proceedings of the Workshop on Projector-Camera Systems (PROCAMS 2008). p. 1-7. | Abstract: | We present a method to efficiently acquire specular mesostructure normal maps, only making use of off-the-shelf components, such as a digital still camera., an LCD screen and a linear polarizing filter. Where current methods require a specialized setup, or a considerable number of input images, we only need a cheap setup to maintain a similar level of quality. We verify the presented theory on real world examples, and provide a ground truth evaluation on photorealistic synthetic data. | Keywords: | mesostructure; specularities; normals; acquisition | Document URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/1942/9139 | ISBN: | 978-1-60558-272-6 | Category: | C1 | Type: | Proceedings Paper |
